About Us

Welcome to the website of the Que-Ettes, Auxiliary of Pi Omega Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. We are delighted you have visited our site. In 1946, Dr. George Spaulding, the Basileus of Pi-Omega Chapter gave permission to six women to form the first fraternal “auxiliary organization” in Baltimore to assist the Omega men in plans for developing an “Omega House” in Baltimore City.

Bernice Monroe (wife of Dr. Clarence L. E. Monroe, PhD.)
Alice Wilson (wife of Dr. Edward N. Wilson, PhD.)
Maude Woodland (wife of Dr. Charles T. Woodland)
Rose Hampton (wife of Bro. John Hampton)
Xavier MacDonald (wife of Dr. George T. McDonald)
Rubye Gill (wife of Dr. Robert L. Gill, PhD.)

These charter members elected Mrs. Bernice Eulalia Calloway Monroe as their first President and the remaining five charter members assumed other positions within the newly created organization. The women adopted a charter with 3 primary areas of focus which were:

(1) to give support morally and financially to Pi Omega Chapter as they help to further the ideals, principals and programs of the fraternity,
(2) to develop ways to foster friendships among the wives of the brothers in the Chapter, and
(3) to support the needs of the community with specific emphasis on helping women and children through the umbrella of community outreach and public service.

We are one of a few auxiliaries in the Second District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Members of the Que-Ettes of Pi Omega serve and empower the Baltimore area community through assistance with a wide range of Pi Omega activities and programs

It is an honor to serve as president of this outstanding auxiliary to the Pi Omega Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. If you have questions or concerns about anything you see or read on this website, please do not hesitate to visit us through our contact page. Your feedback is welcomed.

Sincerely,
Cherri Cunningham Cragway
